Selection Process
The application process involves an initial invitation for applications from the concerned Local Self Government. Applications are then rigorously scrutinized and evaluated at the Grama Panchayat level. Based on a defined set of parameters, the Grama Panchayat prepares a seniority list. These parameters allocate marks for criteria such as BPL family status, number of daughters (more marks for more daughters), barbershop seating capacity (preference for less than 3 seats), differently-abled applicant status, and length of work experience. The eligible applications, accompanied by the recommendations of the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) authorities, are subsequently forwarded to the Regional Deputy Directors of the Backward Communities Development Department (BCDD) for final consideration and selection. In instances where multiple beneficiaries achieve the same marks during evaluation, preference will be accorded to the person with a lower annual family income, serving as a tie-breaker criterion.
