About this grant
The Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) scheme is a flagship initiative of BIRAC that recognizes and invests in innovative ideas in the biotech sector with clear potential to translate into commercial products/technologies. The program specifically supports early-stage startups from ideation to Proof of Concept (PoC).
This 25th Call is focusing on Agri-biotech and allied deep-tech innovations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a startup that has already received a BIG grant apply again?
No. Prior recipients of a BIG grant are ineligible for this call.
What is the acceptable incorporation date for the applying company/LLP?
The entity must be incorporated on or after 1 November 2020 (i.e., not earlier than 5 years from the call launch date).
Are individual entrepreneurs eligible to apply?
No. The BIG 25th call application form explicitly lists 'Individual (Not Eligible)'. Applicants must be a Company (Pvt. Ltd.) or LLP incorporated on or after 1 November 2020.
