Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global leader in serving science, has launched the BioVerse Challenge 2025, a nationwide initiative designed to accelerate high-potential biotech startups across India. This program aims to foster world-leading innovation within India's bioeconomy by providing critical resources for scaling and commercialization. The challenge targets innovations across several key areas, including Biologics, Industrial Biotechnology, Bioenergy, Green Biotech, Marine Biotechnology, Agri & Food Biotech, and Medtech & Diagnostics.

The challenge categorizes participants into two distinct groups: Trailblazers and Rising Stars. Trailblazers, a maximum of 20 startups, receive comprehensive support including access to Thermo Fisher's state-of-the-art facilities and technologies in India, customized skill-building programs, and expert mentorship. They also gain access to strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities. Rising Stars, comprising up to 50 startups, specifically benefit from expert mentorship, strategic partnerships, and collaboration opportunities, focusing on advancing their ventures through targeted guidance. The program underscores a commitment to enhancing India's biotech ecosystem.

Selected startups receive hands-on, in-kind acceleration support rather than a cash award. Trailblazers (up to 20 startups) get access to Thermo Fisher Scientific's state-of-the-art facilities and technologies in India, customized skill-building programs, expert mentorship, and strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities. Rising Stars (up to 50 startups) receive expert mentorship, strategic partnerships, and collaboration opportunities, with targeted guidance to advance their ventures. The support is designed to help early- and growth-stage biotech startups scale and commercialize, across areas such as biologics, industrial biotech, bioenergy, green biotech, marine biotech, agri & food biotech, and medtech & diagnostics.
