AlgoVerse 2026 is a hybrid Algorand hackathon organised by Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune, in collaboration with the AlgoBharat team. The competition focuses on Agentic Payments
(x402) — a new paradigm for pay-per-use AI and compute services on the Algorand blockchain. Participants will build working x402 endpoints, demonstrate complete payment flows, and pitch real-world business models. Who Should Apply Open to all students across India, from any college, specialization, or department. Inter-college and inter-department teams are welcome. Whether you are a blockchain developer, a web3 enthusiast, or a product-minded builder, this hackathon is designed for you. Tracks / Themes Seven problem statements are offered under the Agentic Payments (x402) theme: - Pay-Per-Use AI Services Marketplace - Voice to Slide Deck Node - Pay-Per-Compute GPU Marketplace - Atomic Multi-Agent Service Router - Payment Logging & Audit Infrastructure - SLM-Powered Code Optimizer - Open Innovation — Build the Future of Web3 Teams choose one problem statement to build their project around. Format & Timeline The hackathon runs in three phases: - Phase 1 (23rd July – 12th August): Registrations open. - Phase 2 (23rd July – 10th August): Idea submission, finalist shortlisting, mentor support, and an Algo Guide progress review session. - Phase 3 – Final Round (12th August, on-campus): A 12-hour hacking day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ending in live demos and judging. A mandatory pre-hackathon onboarding workshop will cover Algorand fundamentals, AlgoKit setup, and the x402 architecture. Judging criteria: Technical implementation, innovation, real-world impact, completeness/functionality, presentation quality, and alignment with the x402 Agentic Payments theme. Final evaluation and winner selection will be jointly decided by faculty judges and the AlgoBharat team representative. Prizes - 1st Place: $200 - 2nd Place: $120 - 3rd Place: $80 Total Prize Pool: $500 (approx. ₹46,000 INR). Eligibility Open to all students across India. Team size: 1 to 4 members. Inter-college and inter-department teams are permitted. Registration is initially free; if selected for the final round, a fee of ₹300 per team is required. About the Organiser Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, Pune, is a well-known engineering institution in Maharashtra. The hackathon is supported by the AlgoBharat team, the Indian community arm of the Algorand Foundation, which promotes blockchain education and development in India.
