Krunch - The Analytics Challenge is a business case competition organized by the Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. It challenges participants
to analyze real-world business situations, identify critical problems, and develop practical, data-driven solutions. The competition evaluates structured thinking, business acumen, analytical ability, and the capacity to make sound strategic decisions under constraints. Each stage is designed to test a different dimension of problem-solving, pushing participants to move beyond generic ideas and demonstrate clear, well-reasoned thinking. Who Should Apply This event is open to all college students. Teams must consist of members from the same institute, and each team can have 1 to 3 students. A student cannot be part of more than one team, and there is no limit to the number of entries from a particular institute. Each team can submit only one entry for the competition. Format & Timeline The competition unfolds in three rounds: - Round 1 – Quiz Round: Conducted online on Unstop, testing foundational knowledge and analytical aptitude. - Round 2 – Case Study Submission: Participants submit a detailed case study solution via Unstop, demonstrating their problem-solving approach. - Round 3 – Final Presentation: Shortlisted teams present their solutions offline before a panel of judges, defending their analysis and recommendations. The event runs from September 7 to November 1, 2026, with the final presentation taking place offline. The registration deadline is September 27, 2026. Prizes The total prize pool is ₹30,000, distributed as follows: - 1st Prize: ₹15,000 - 2nd Prize: ₹10,000 - 3rd Prize: ₹5,000 Eligibility Open to all college students. Teams of 1–3 members, all from the same institute. No restriction on the number of teams per institute. It regularly hosts competitions and events like Krunch to nurture analytical and managerial talent among students.
