DeepTech Bharat Hackathon 2026 is a national-level hackathon organised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India. The competition invites innovators, students, and early-stage startups to build solutions in deep-tech domains including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, AgriTech, and CleanTech.
Who Should Apply
Open to Indian students, researchers, and early-stage startups working on deep-tech innovations. Individual participants and teams are welcome. The hackathon is free to enter.
Tracks / Themes
Participants can submit projects in four broad tracks:
- AI – machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI
- Robotics – autonomous systems, drones, industrial robotics
- AgriTech – precision farming, supply chain, crop monitoring
- CleanTech – renewable energy, waste management, water conservation
Format & Timeline
The hackathon is a single-day event held on July 31, 2026. Submissions are due by the same date. Judging criteria include innovation, technical complexity, feasibility, and potential for societal impact.
Prizes
Total cash prize pool of ₹1,25,000, distributed among winning teams. Additional non-cash benefits may include mentorship and incubation support from DPIIT.
Eligibility
Open to Indian nationals. No team size restrictions specified. Participants can apply as individuals or in teams.
About the Organiser
DPIIT is a department under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, responsible for promoting industrial growth, startups, and innovation. It runs flagship programs like Startup India and regularly organises hackathons and challenges to foster deep-tech entrepreneurship.
