About the Competition
Mochatrade and Venix 2026 jointly present The Mochaverse Case Competition, an online event hosted by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. This competition invites students to explore the fields of finance, strategy, and marketing by working on a real-time issue commonly faced by startups. It is designed to test participants' understanding of brand positioning, creative strategy, segmentation and targeting, and the investment behavior of different target groups. The competition also provides an opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical or desired positioning and actual market positioning, promoting innovation, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills.
Who Should Apply
This competition is open to students enrolled in Indian colleges and universities. Teams must consist of 2–4 members, all from the same college (cross-college teams are not allowed).
Format & Timeline
The competition consists of two rounds:

Round 1 (Quiz): A multiple-choice quiz comprising case-based and general technical knowledge questions. Screen switching and movement between questions are not permitted.

Round 2 (Presentation): Shortlisted teams must submit a 6–8 slide presentation (excluding title and closing slides). Evaluation criteria include identification of the root problem, innovative solutions aligned with Mochatrade's strategic fit, and overall presentation quality.
Participants must submit original work. Submissions found to be primarily generated using large language models (LLMs) will not be considered.
Prizes
Winners and runners-up will share a total prize pool of ₹50,000, with prizes worth 50k.
Eligibility
Open to students from the same college. Teams of 2–4 members.

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) is one of India's premier business schools, known for its rigorous academic programs and vibrant student-led events. Venix is the annual international business and entrepreneurship summit organised by the students of IIM Bangalore, bringing together industry leaders, startups, and students for competitions, workshops, and networking.
