Smackathon 2k26 is the 5th edition of the flagship 24-hour hackathon organized by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE), Nagpur, as part of its annual technical fest, UPSURGE. The event brings together student teams to solve real-world challenges through innovation, collaboration, and technology.
Who Should Apply
Open to all college students, particularly those with skills in AI, ML, Blockchain, IoT, and full-stack development. Teams of 3–5 members. Individual participants may form teams during registration.
Tracks / Themes
Problem statements span trending domains: AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, and more. Participants select one problem statement during Round 0.
Format & Timeline
The competition has three rounds:
- Round 0 (Online Screening): Teams submit a PPT describing their proposed solution. Free to participate.
- Round 1 (Prototype Development): Shortlisted teams build a working prototype in 24 hours at the YCCE campus (or online for approved remote teams).
- Grand Finale: Finalists refine their prototype and present to a jury. Judging criteria include innovation, technical implementation, scalability, UI/UX, business viability, and presentation.
Prizes
Winner: ₹20,000 cash + goodies
1st Runner Up: ₹10,000 cash
2nd Runner Up: ₹5,000 cash
Goodies worth ₹5,000 for top 3 teams
Participation certificates for all.
Eligibility
Teams of 3–5 members. Open to all college students. Online participation available on request for shortlisted teams with valid reasons (limited slots).
