Ideathon 2026 is an online innovation challenge hosted by the Society of Finance, Economics, Business and Data Science of IIT Bhubaneswar in collaboration with BETTR. The competition is designed to foster creativity and problem-solving among students and early-stage entrepreneurs, providing a platform to showcase unique business ideas and compete for cash prizes.
Who Should Apply
Open to students and early-stage entrepreneurs from any discipline. Teams of 1 to 3 members are allowed. Individual participants are welcome.
Format & Timeline
The competition is conducted fully online and is divided into two rounds:
- Round 1: Idea Submission — Teams submit a presentation (PPT) outlining their business idea. Submissions are evaluated on innovation, feasibility, scalability, and overall business potential. The PPT must be submitted on or before 1st August 2026.
- Round 2: Final Pitch — Shortlisted teams from Round 1 present and pitch their idea online before a panel of judges on 5th August 2026. Participants are assessed on idea originality, market viability, business feasibility, presentation quality, and ability to answer judges' questions.
Prizes
Total prize pool of ₹45,000 distributed as:
- First Place — ₹20,000
- Second Place — ₹15,000
- Third Place — ₹10,000
Eligibility
Open to all students and early-stage entrepreneurs. Teams of 1–3 members. No geographic restriction — fully online.
