About this subsidy
Capital Interest Subvention (CIS) under the New Central Sector Scheme 2021 lowers the cost of borrowing for industrial and service units investing in Jammu & Kashmir.
Eligible units receive interest subvention at 6% per annum for a maximum of 7 consecutive years, counted from any date after the date of application for registration. The subvention applies to a term loan on a principal amount of Rs 500 crore taken for investment in eligible new plant and machinery (manufacturing sector) or new building and all durable physical assets (service sector).
Both new units and existing units undertaking substantial expansion can claim it, making it one of the larger capital-cost offsets available in the UT.
