About this subsidy
Alongside rent-free stalls, the J&K Wool Processing, Handloom & Handicraft Policy 2020 reimburses the cost of getting the artisan and the product to the exhibition.
GI certified unit holders participating in UT and national level exhibitions can claim all travel expenses and freight charges, subject to a maximum of 4,000 persons per year with a maximum reimbursement of Rs 10,000 per person.
For a Kashmir-based craft unit, freight on carpets and shawls plus airfare or rail to a metro fair frequently costs more than the stall itself — this incentive is what makes national-level exhibition participation viable for a small unit.

What You Get
Reimbursement of travel expenses and freight charges for participating in UT and national level exhibitions, capped at Rs 10,000 per person, with a maximum of 4,000 persons covered per year. Freight matters as much as travel here — moving carpets, shawls and wood craft to a metro exhibition is a real cost, and the policy covers both under the same claim.
