About this subsidy
Under the J&K Wool Processing, Handloom & Handicraft Policy 2020, holders of GI certified units get rent-free stalls at UT and national level exhibitions.
The support is delivered as a reimbursement: a maximum of 500 stalls are covered per year across the UT, with a maximum reimbursement of Rs 10,000 per stall. Exhibitions are the primary route to bulk and institutional buyers for Kashmiri GI crafts — Pashmina, Kani shawls, Kashmir carpets, walnut wood carving — and stall rent is often the single biggest barrier to attending.
Because the annual pool of stalls is finite, applying early in the exhibition calendar matters.

What You Get
Rent-free stalls at UT and national level exhibitions for GI certified unit holders, delivered as a reimbursement of up to Rs 10,000 per stall. The scheme covers a maximum of 500 stalls per year, so it is a first-come pool rather than an open-ended entitlement. For a GI craft unit, it removes the upfront stall-rent risk of attending a national fair where buyer contacts are made.
