About this subsidy
Under the J&K Wool Processing, Handloom & Handicraft Policy 2020, a handicraft unit can claim a one-time working capital subsidy.
The subsidy is up to 10% of the working capital deployed for one year, subject to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh. It is aimed at the recurring cash squeeze handicraft businesses face — buying raw wool, yarn and materials, paying artisans, and holding finished stock through a long selling cycle.
Being one-time, it is best claimed in a year when your working capital deployment is at its highest, so the 10% computation lands closer to the Rs 5 lakh ceiling.

What You Get
A one-time working capital subsidy of up to 10% of the working capital deployed for one year, capped at Rs 5 lakh. It is a direct cash subsidy against the unit's own working capital rather than a loan, so nothing is repayable. For a handicraft unit financing raw material and artisan wages ahead of sales, it takes a meaningful bite out of a full year's carrying cost.
