About this subsidy
The J&K Industrial Policy 2021-30 fully subsidises backup power for industrial, commercial and institutional units.
The incentive is 100% on a new DG set ranging from 10KW to 2000KW, with a cap of Rs 40 lakh in Zone A and Rs 45 lakh in Zone B. All industries, including commercial and institutional units, are eligible.
One condition governs repeat claims: if you have already availed the subsidy on your existing power load, the new claim is allowed only on the incremental power load. If you have not availed it before, the claim is computed on the aggregated power load. That makes the timing of a first claim material — claiming early on a small load reduces what you can claim later.

What You Get
A 100% subsidy on a new DG set rated from 10KW to 2000KW, capped at Rs 40 lakh in Zone A and Rs 45 lakh in Zone B. Since the rate is full cost, the zone cap is what actually limits the benefit. Eligibility is restricted to the incremental power load where subsidy has already been availed on the existing load, and computed on the aggregated power load where it has not.
