About this subsidy
The J&K Industrial Policy 2021-30 grants a full waiver of stamp duty and court fee to units setting up in the Union Territory.
The exemption is 100% and covers all industries, including commercial and institutional units. Stamp duty is one of the larger unavoidable transaction costs when a unit acquires or leases land, mortgages property to a lender, or executes the instruments a project financing requires — a full waiver removes a cost that would otherwise be paid upfront, in cash, before the project earns anything.
The clause also extends the exemption to court fee.
