About this subsidy
The Jammu & Kashmir Film Policy 2021 carries a dedicated slab for films on patriotic and certain designated themes shot in the UT: 50% of their cost or ₹50 lakh, whichever is less, paid by way of subsidy.
The 50% share is notably higher than the 25%-of-cost cap that governs the policy's general film slabs, so a themed film with a budget under ₹1 crore draws proportionately more support here than it would elsewhere in the policy. Theme qualification is assessed by the film policy authority.
