About this subsidy
The J&K Poultry Policy 2020 funds backup power for commercial poultry farms.
Commercial layer and broiler farms with a rearing capacity of more than 10,000 birds receive a 100% subsidy on a DG set, with a maximum ceiling of Rs 4.5 lakh.
For poultry this is not a convenience item. Ventilation and climate control failing during a power cut can wipe out a shed of birds within hours, so a generator is a survival requirement in a UT with unreliable supply. A full subsidy up to Rs 4.5 lakh covers a generator sized for a typical commercially scaled shed.

What You Get
A 100% subsidy on the cost of a DG set, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs 4.5 lakh, for commercial layer and broiler farms rearing more than 10,000 birds. Because the rate is full cost rather than a share, a generator priced at or under the ceiling is effectively free to the farm — the ceiling, not the percentage, is what limits the benefit.
