About this subsidy
The J&K Poultry Policy 2020 subsidises safe carcass and waste disposal at commercial poultry farms.
Commercial layer and broiler farms with a rearing capacity of more than 10,000 birds get a 50% subsidy on an incinerator, subject to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh.
At commercial scale, mortality and hatchery waste have to be destroyed on site — burial or open dumping is both a biosecurity risk and a regulatory problem. An incinerator is usually the cheapest way for a farm to stay compliant and contain disease spread, and this incentive halves its cost.
