About this subsidy
The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Policy – 2020 supports sustainable tourism by underwriting the cost of an energy audit for commercial buildings. Assistance is tiered by the BEE Star Rating the building achieves, running from a maximum of 40% at the lowest rated band up to a maximum of 75% at the highest, with a maximum amount of Rs 5 lac per unit yearly.
To claim it, the unit submits its BEE Certificate stating the Star Rating — the rating both establishes eligibility and sets which assistance slab applies. A better-rated building therefore recovers a larger share of its audit cost.
The benefit is yearly, so a unit that repeats the audit in a subsequent year can claim again within the same per-unit ceiling.

What You Get
The policy pays for the energy audit of your commercial building on a sliding scale set by its BEE Star Rating — maximum assistance of 40%, 50%, 60%, 70% or 75% of the audit cost as the rating improves. The maximum amount is Rs 5 lac per unit yearly, so the benefit recurs each year the audit is carried out. You need the BEE Certificate stating the Star Rating to establish which slab applies.
