About this subsidy
Clause 3.4.7.i.a of the Meghalaya Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (MIIPP) 2024 gives Micro and Small Units a subsidy of 50% on the cost of Power Generating Sets, including non-conventional and renewable energy systems, purchased for captive use.
The ceiling is Rs 10 lakhs for Conventional Sets and Rs 25 Lakhs for Non-Conventional or Renewable Energy systems — a deliberate tilt towards clean captive generation.

What You Get
Half the cost of a power generating set purchased for the unit's own captive use. Conventional sets are capped at Rs 10 lakhs; non-conventional and renewable energy systems carry a much higher Rs 25 Lakhs ceiling, so a solar or biomass installation attracts substantially more support than a diesel genset.
