About this Opportunity

The Shell-GDC I-GNITE Program is a global accelerator initiative focused on identifying and nurturing promising AI-based STEM innovations and startups in India that are working on decarbonisation-related challenges. The program supports teams at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 2–4 through entrepreneurship training, business mentorship, and access to Shell’s technical network and manufacturing resources. The core focus is on AI for Science, integrating generative learning with physics-based modeling for low-carbon solutions that align with Shell’s decarbonisation strategies.

Eligibility

  • Target Group: Early-stage Indian startups and late-stage translational research teams from Indian STEM universities and labs/incubators.
  • Technology Focus: AI-based innovations in science with applications in low-carbon solutions, particularly focusing on energy decarbonisation.
  • TRL: Technology Readiness Levels 2–4.
  • Incorporation Requirement: Pre-incubated research teams must incorporate a company by the end of Phase 2 to qualify for Phase 3.

Application Process

  • Phase 1 (Registration & Application): Complete the registration. Upon registration, access the detailed 'Application Form' and submit necessary project/business idea information.
  • Selection: Submissions are reviewed, and eligible applicants are invited for an interview by the selection committee.
  • Program Offer: Selected teams receive an offer to join the 8-month accelerator program (Dec 2025 – Jul 2026), structured in three phases.
  • Funding: Promising teams may receive up to ₹5,00,000 after Phase 2. Additional grants up to ₹10,00,000 for PoC development may be awarded after Phase 3.
  • Pitch Day: Selected teams pitch to Shell for potential collaboration and investment at the end of the program.
