About this funding program
The SPC Founder Fellowship Fall 2026 is an invitation for ambitious founders to build at the frontier, backed by US$1M (approximately ₹8.3 crore) in funding and a unique community. In an era where speed is paramount but can also lead to superficial outcomes, South Park Commons (SPC) emphasizes 'patience in service of speed' – providing the resources and environment to delve deep, validate ideas thoroughly, and build conviction. This Fellowship is designed to help founders avoid the trap of building something small or missing the moment entirely, by surrounding them with sharp technologists and experts.
The program is structured to provide both immediate acceleration and long-term support. It begins with immediate funding and membership upon acceptance, followed by an intensive 8-week in-person bootcamp. During this bootcamp, companies work closely with SPC partners on critical aspects like customer discovery, product development, branding, storytelling, and pitching. Following the bootcamp, the 'Fellow Residency' phase offers ongoing support without a fixed end date, ensuring founders have the time they need to evolve their ideas and prepare for their seed funding round.
Beyond capital, the Fellowship offers access to a talent-dense community of researchers, engineers, and founders focused on 'what's next', an invaluable asset for collaborative problem-solving and networking. It also includes up to US$1M in credits and perks from leading technology companies, further empowering founders to rapidly prototype and scale their ventures. SPC is committed to partnering with founders to find the maximally ambitious version of what only they can build, fostering breakthrough innovation across diverse frontier tech sectors.

Selection Process
Applications are rigorously reviewed to identify founders demonstrating strong ambition to build at the technological frontier. SPC has a particular interest in applicants who possess the ability to build and prototype effectively, especially solo founders. The evaluation process assesses candidates' technical insights, understanding of relevant research, identification of interesting markets, and their systematic approach to idea generation and validation. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SPC Founder Fellowship?
The Founder Fellowship is the funded way to join SPC. Fellows get: $1M in funding, structured as $400K for 7% upfront and $600K guaranteed in your next external round. They also receive SPC partner support, open timelines for validation and fundraising, and access to the most talent-dense community in -1 to 0.
Is the Fellowship the only way to join SPC?
No. SPC offers a Member Residency for technologists who are not yet ready to fundraise or commit to a company. This six-month, no-cost, no-equity program provides full access to offices, programming, and members. SPC also invests beyond the Fellowship at the seed stage, preferring to know founders as members first. All applications start from the same place.
How long does the Fellowship last?
Upon acceptance, Fellows immediately gain full access to the SPC community, partners, offices, and programming. The Fellowship has two phases: an immediate funding and membership phase, followed by an 8-week in-person bootcamp. The subsequent Fellow Residency phase has no fixed end date and lasts as long as needed for founders to build conviction and prepare for their seed round.
Do I need an idea to apply?
No. While having an idea is welcome, applicants primarily need to demonstrate their process for generating ideas. Be prepared to discuss technical approaches, relevant research, interesting markets, and insights. SPC helps ensure the chosen idea is worth a decade of effort.
Is the Fellowship limited to specific industries or founder profiles?
No. The primary requirement is the ambition to build at the frontier. SPC has supported ventures in foundation model labs, novel chip hardware, space tech, quantum computing, robotics, consumer hardware, biotech, enterprise security, fintech, and various agent and software companies. Fellows come from diverse backgrounds including professors, college dropouts, repeat founders, and early engineers.
Can I apply as a solo founder?
Yes. SPC has a strong bias for solo applicants who can build and prototype. If a co-founder would be beneficial, SPC can assist in the search, with previous Fellows finding co-founders within the community.
