Quick Answer
Tripura reimburses 30% or 40% of fixed capital for industrial units, with ceilings of Rs. 100 lakhs, Rs.125 lakhs, or Rs. 200 lakhs by size and sector.
About this subsidy
The Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 (TIIPIS 2022) pays a Capital Investment Subsidy to new and expanding industrial enterprises that put money into fixed capital in the State. This record is incentive 1 of that scheme. It is a claim the unit files after investing, not a prize and not a loan.
The clause splits the rate by whether the enterprise is in the Non-Thrust Sector or the Thrust Sector, and by whether it is an MSME or a Large unit. Non-Thrust Sector MSMEs receive 30% of fixed capital investment with a ceiling of Rs. 100 lakhs per enterprise. Thrust Sector MSMEs receive 40% of fixed capital investment with a ceiling of Rs.125 lakhs per enterprise. ST, SC, PH and Women enterprises get an additional 5% inside those same upper ceilings of Rs.100 lakhs or Rs.125 lakhs — the extra slice is a top-up, not a reserved-only window. Large units receive 30% or 40% of investment on land and building, with an upper ceiling of subsidy of Rs. 200 lakhs. Substantial expansion is treated at the same 30% / 40% rates within the MSME ceilings.
Private industrial-infrastructure developers are outside this incentive. A founder who is building a factory, expanding plant, or putting up land and building for their own unit is the intended claimant. The money is a subsidy on eligible fixed capital, released after the Department of Industries and Commerce verifies the investment, not an advance you can spend before the plant exists.
TIIPIS 2022 is a rolling State scheme. There is no annual application window in this clause. Units apply through the District Industries Centre and the SWAAGAT single-window portal of the Government of Tripura. Keep bills, bank statements, land records and commissioning proof so the claim can be checked against what was actually spent.
Because Large units are eligible alongside MSMEs, this is not an MSME-only product. Udyam registration helps an MSME prove its category and pick the 30% or 40% band, but it is not the gate that shuts out a Large unit. The scheme does not take equity and does not ask the subsidy back if the unit stays eligible. Claims are for enterprises located in Tripura.

Selection Process
This is not a pitch contest and there is no cohort shortlist. The District Industries Centre and the Department of Industries and Commerce check that the claimant is an eligible industrial enterprise in Tripura, that the investment matches the Non-Thrust / Thrust / Large band claimed, and that bills support the percentage and the ceiling (Rs. 100 lakhs, Rs.125 lakhs, or Rs. 200 lakhs). Incomplete papers or spend that is not eligible fixed capital (or not land and building, for Large units) are queried or rejected. A clean claim is approved and reimbursed. Private industrial-infrastructure developers are screened out at this stage.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much capital subsidy can an MSME get?
Non-Thrust Sector MSMEs get 30% of fixed capital investment with a ceiling of Rs. 100 lakhs per enterprise. Thrust Sector MSMEs get 40% of fixed capital investment with a ceiling of Rs.125 lakhs per enterprise. Those rupee ceilings are per enterprise, not per plant item.
What extra do ST, SC, PH or Women enterprises receive?
An additional 5% subsidy, still inside the upper ceiling of Rs.100 lakhs or Rs.125 lakhs depending on Non-Thrust or Thrust Sector. The extra 5% is a top-up. The scheme is not reserved only for those founders.
Do Large units qualify, or is this MSME-only?
Large units qualify. They receive 30% or 40% of investment on land and building with an upper ceiling of subsidy of Rs. 200 lakhs. Because Large units are in the clause, this is not an MSME-only product.
Does expansion count, or only a brand-new unit?
New and expanding industrial enterprises can claim. Substantial expansion is paid at the same 30%/40% rates within the MSME ceilings.
Can a private industrial park developer claim this?
No. This incentive is for industrial enterprises investing in their own fixed capital. Private industrial-infrastructure developers are outside this claim.
Is this a loan or does the State take equity?
Neither. It is a subsidy reimbursement. The clause does not ask you to repay the amount and does not take a share of the company.
Where do I apply?
File through the SWAAGAT single-window portal at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/ and your District Industries Centre under the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura. There is no closing date in this clause; claims run on a rolling basis under TIIPIS 2022.
What proof will the Department typically ask for?
Proof that the unit is in Tripura, that the investment is eligible fixed capital (or land and building for Large units), and that the money was actually spent — invoices, bank payments, land records, and commissioning or expansion evidence. MSMEs should be ready with Udyam papers if they are claiming the MSME rate band.
