About this Opportunity

The AI-Based Early Childhood Development (ECD) Innovation Challenge is a Government of Andhra Pradesh initiative led by the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in collaboration with the Women Development & Child Welfare Department.

The challenge focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to strengthen Early Childhood Development outcomes during the critical first 2,000 days of a child’s life. Innovators are invited to design AI-powered solutions for children aged 0–6 years that enable early identification of developmental delays, personalized caregiver interventions, and data-driven decision support for Anganwadi workers under the ICDS ecosystem.

Selected solutions will receive pilot funding and are eligible for direct government procurement opportunities of up to ₹2 crore, enabling real-world deployment across Andhra Pradesh. The program includes structured evaluation, pilot implementation in live field settings, and scale-up support from the state government.

Eligibility

  • DPIIT-recognised startups
  • AI, HealthTech, EdTech, and data analytics companies
  • Academic and research institutions
  • Non-profits and NGOs with demonstrated expertise in Early Childhood Development

Solutions may be at the idea, prototype, MVP, or pilot-ready stage. Participants must demonstrate the ability to build AI-enabled systems aligned with ICDS requirements, support multilingual field usage, ensure data privacy compliance, and integrate with government digital platforms.
