About this subsidy
The "Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana" is an umbrella scheme initiated by the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat. Its primary objective is to bolster the state's dynamic MSME sector, which plays a crucial role in employment generation, GDP contribution, and exports. Active from August 7th, 2020, to August 6th, 2025, this initiative specifically aims to empower entrepreneurs from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and enhance the global competitiveness of MSMEs. The particular component, "Assistance of Capital Investment Subsidy to Micro enterprises," is designed to offer direct capital investment support to micro-enterprises engaged in manufacturing activities. This subsidy helps reduce the financial burden on entrepreneurs, encouraging investment and growth in the state's industrial landscape.

What You Get
The scheme provides a capital investment subsidy for micro-enterprises in manufacturing, linked to a term loan. The quantum of incentive varies by taluka category:
- Category 1 Talukas: 30% of the term loan amount, up to ₹40 lakh. An additional ₹10 lakh is provided if the Eligible Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) exceeds ₹10 crore.
- Category 2 Talukas: 25% of the term loan amount, up to ₹35 lakh. An additional ₹7.5 lakh is provided if the Eligible FCI exceeds ₹10 crore.
- Category 3 Talukas & Municipal Corporation Areas: 15% of the term loan amount, up to ₹15 lakh. An additional ₹5 lakh is provided if the Eligible FCI exceeds ₹10 crore. The maximum total subsidy available is ₹50 lakh (₹40 lakh + ₹10 lakh in Category 1). This is a non-repayable subsidy aimed at supporting capital investment in manufacturing units. While the subsidy itself is not repayable, it is provided against a term loan which the entrepreneur must repay to the bank.
