About this grant
The PRISM (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Start-ups and MSMEs) scheme of DSIR aims to support individual innovators in translating their ideas into working prototypes/models/processes and to provide support for enterprise creation. It also supports institutions developing technology solutions for MSME clusters. The scheme operates in two phases and also has a component for R&D proposals.

What You Get

Who can apply for Phase I?
Any Indian citizen with an innovative idea can apply. Two categories exist: Category I for proof of concept/prototypes (up to ₹2 lakh or 90% of project cost) and Category II for working models/process know-how/testing/patenting/technology transfer (up to ₹20 lakh or 90% of project cost).
What is the maximum funding available under PRISM?
Up to ₹50 lakh per project, but the amount and co-funding percentage vary by phase and category. Phase I covers up to 90% of project cost (subject to category cap), while Phase II and R&D proposals cover up to 50% of project cost (subject to ₹50 lakh cap).
What does Phase II support?
Phase II supports enterprise incubation for innovators who have successfully completed Phase I or who have a successfully demonstrated proof of concept. Support is up to ₹50 lakh or 50% of project cost.
Are research institutions eligible?
Yes, under PRISM-R&D, R&D institutes, autonomous institutions, public-funded laboratories, and academic institutes can apply for developing technology solutions for MSME clusters. Support is up to ₹50 lakh or 50% of project cost.
