The GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Program Cohort 2 is an early-stage startup support initiative implemented by InFED at IIM Nagpur with backing from MeitY Startup Hub and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The program is part of the broader GENESIS initiative that aims to strengthen Indiaβs deep-tech startup ecosystem by providing structured support to innovators working on emerging technology solutions.
The program is designed to empower first-generation founders and technology innovators who are building startups in advanced electronics, information technology, and deep-tech domains. It focuses particularly on innovators working in early innovation phases such as ideation, concept validation, proof of concept, and prototype development. Through financial assistance and incubation support, the initiative seeks to help founders transition their technology ideas into scalable startup ventures capable of contributing to India's strategic technology ecosystem.
Selected participants under the EiR program can receive financial support of up to βΉ10 lakh to support the development of their startup idea or prototype. This funding is intended to help founders focus full-time on product development, technology validation, and early experimentation without the immediate pressure of external capital. In addition to financial assistance, the program provides structured incubation support through InFED at IIM Nagpur.
Participants gain access to mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, domain experts, and industry professionals. The program also provides co-working space, technical guidance, and exposure to startup ecosystem stakeholders including investors, corporates, and innovation partners. The mentorship and ecosystem access aim to accelerate product-market readiness and build strong technical foundations for deep-tech startups.
