About this subsidy
The "Gujarat Textile Policy" is an umbrella scheme introduced by the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat, aiming to augment investments and strengthen the textile value chain across all sub-sectors. This includes a particular focus on the garments and apparel as well as technical textiles industries. Effective from October 1st, 2024, to September 29th, 2029, this initiative is strategically designed to reduce the carbon footprint and promote green growth within the sector, thereby enhancing its global competitiveness and ensuring environmental sustainability. The component, "Assistance for Quality Certification," offers crucial financial support to industrial units. This support is specifically for expenses related to obtaining recognized National and International quality certifications, such as BIS, ISI, WHO-GMP, and Hallmark, which are vital for market access and quality assurance. Furthermore, it assists with the costs of acquiring necessary testing equipment/machinery and covers their calibration charges, ensuring that units can maintain high-quality production standards.

Selection Process
The selection process involves a multi-stage verification and approval mechanism. Initially, applications for registration are reviewed by the Industries Commissionerate through a rigorous scrutiny and verification of relevant documents to ensure compliance with prescribed procedures. Once registered, applications for Provisional/Final Eligibility Certificates are routed based on the unit's classification (MSME with varying GFCI or other industrial units). These applications undergo further scrutiny by the respective authorities, such as the General Manager of the District Industries Center, the MSME Commissioner, or the Industries Commissioner. The evaluation focuses on confirming that the unit has incurred actual expenses for recognized quality certifications and testing equipment, and that all submitted documentation is in order before the eligibility certificate is issued and reimbursement processed.
