What if I am a student but my startup is already generating revenue? Which category should I apply under?
If you are a student but your venture has a validated working prototype and active market traction or revenue (TRL 5 or above), you should apply under the Emerging Startups category. This ensures your application is evaluated against appropriate business milestones and positions you for advanced incubation and networking opportunities.
Our idea doesn't fit into one of the core themes. Can we still apply?
Yes. While the listed themes represent the incubator's areas of focus, they are only a preference. We welcome applications from innovators and startups with novel, impactful ideas across all domains.
Are there any application or participation fees?
No. There are no application or participation fees for Pitch Fest 2026.
Can we include links in our application?
Yes. You may include links to videos, demo websites, prototypes, GitHub repositories, or other relevant resources that help showcase and substantiate your application pitch deck.
If selected, what support can we expect?
Selected teams/startups will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to be considered for incubation which gives access to the startup support system offered by the incubator.
We have a great idea but are not from a technical background. Can we still apply?
Absolutely. Technical expertise is not a prerequisite. We encourage passionate founders with strong ideas to apply, provided they are willing to learn, build, and bring the right talent into their team as needed.
What is the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) eligibility requirement?
Applicants should meet the applicable Technology Readiness Level (TRL) requirements as specified in the eligibility criteria. Please refer to the TRL eligibility chart provided in the application guidelines to determine whether your innovation qualifies.
Is a working prototype mandatory?
No. Depending on your category and TRL, a prototype is not mandatory. Strong idea-stage innovations are also encouraged to apply.
Can one person submit multiple ideas?
Yes, provided each application represents a distinct innovation and is submitted separately.
Can a team have members from different institutions or organizations?
Yes. Cross-institutional and interdisciplinary teams are welcome.
How will applications be evaluated?
Applications will be assessed based on factors such as innovation, problem relevance, feasibility, market potential, scalability, team capability, and overall impact.
When will shortlisted teams be announced?
Shortlisted applicants will be notified via email after the evaluation process is completed.
What should we prepare if shortlisted?
Shortlisted teams should be prepared with a pitch deck, a product demonstration or prototype (if available), and be ready to answer questions from the jury.
Will all shortlisted teams receive incubation?
Shortlisting for Pitch Fest does not automatically guarantee incubation. However, selected teams may be invited for further evaluation of incubation.
Will there be prizes or funding?
Cashprizes upto 2.5 Lakhs.
Will accommodation be provided?
No. Accommodation will not be provided by the organizers. Participants are requested to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
