Selection Process
The selection of eligible women workers is a structured process managed at the district level. A dedicated committee, constituted under the chairmanship of the General Manager, District Industries Centre, reviews all applications. This committee rigorously assesses candidates based on the prescribed eligibility criteria, giving preference to experienced handloom workers who lack access to looms. Once the district-level selection is complete, the list of recommended beneficiaries, along with all necessary details, is forwarded to the Directorate of Industries for final approval. Following this approval, the sanctioned amount (90% of the equipment cost, up to ₹25,000) is directly disbursed to the bank accounts of the selected women workers.
