Port Mortem 2026 is a 72-hour online hackathon organised by Hackathon Raptors, focused on AI-assisted software migration and cross-language code porting. Participants will rewrite a real open-source project from one programming language to another while preserving its functionality, correctness, and engineering quality.
Who Should Apply
Open to students, professionals, researchers, and software developers worldwide. Solo participants are welcome. Teams of 1–4 members from any college, university, organisation, or country can participate.
Tracks / Themes
Participants may choose one of the following migration tracks: C → Rust, Zig → Rust, TypeScript → Go, Python → Rust, Go → Rust, JavaScript → Go or Rust, C → Zig, or Open Pair (Any Language → Any Language).
Format & Timeline
Registration opens on 29 June 2026. The hackathon begins on 31 July 2026 and runs for 72 hours, with submissions due by 3 August 2026. Judging takes place from 3–13 August 2026, and winners are announced on 14 August 2026. All development must be completed during the official hackathon period. AI coding assistants and developer tools are permitted.

Eligibility
Open to all. Teams of 1–4 members. Solo participation allowed. Inter-college and cross-disciplinary teams are permitted.
