About this Opportunity

Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) is an initiative by the Ministry of Defence to foster innovation and technology development in the Defence and Aerospace sector. It engages startups, MSMEs, individual innovators, R&D institutes, and academia to promote self-reliance. iDEX provides financial support (grants), mentorship, and access to test facilities to develop innovative solutions for defence needs through challenges like Defence India Startup Challenges (DISC) and Open Challenges.

Eligibility

Startups recognized by DPIIT.
Indian companies incorporated under the Companies Act 1956/2013, primarily MSMEs.
Individual innovators (must form a startup before grant agreement).
Applicants need to address specific challenges or demonstrate innovative solutions relevant to the Defence and Aerospace sector.

Application Process

Visit the iDEX portal: https://idex.gov.in/
Check for open challenges under DISC, Open Challenge, iDEX Prime, ADITI, etc.
Select a relevant challenge and fill out the online application form.
Provide technical and financial details of the proposal, including relevant patents and a tentative business plan.
Upload required documents (Company Incorporation Certificate, DPIIT/MSME registration, financial statements, etc.).
