The UI/UX Solo Design Challenge, part of Pixels 2026, is an intensive, timed competition organized by S.I.E.S College of Management Studies (SIES), Mumbai. This challenge is designed to test participants' real-world design thinking skills, from problem identification to visual execution, within a fixed timeframe.
Who Should Apply
This competition is strictly for solo participants. It is ideal for design enthusiasts, students, and aspiring UI/UX professionals looking to showcase their individual capabilities and problem-solving skills.
Tracks / Themes
Participants will receive a specific domain on the day of the event. Within this domain, they are tasked with identifying a real-world problem, defining their target user or persona, and then designing an innovative solution. Creativity and originality in problem definition and solution design are highly encouraged and rewarded.
Format & Timeline
The challenge has a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Participants must use Figma as their mandatory design tool. Submissions require 2 to 5 screens (wireframe or high-fidelity), a basic user flow diagram, and a Figma file link with view access enabled. A short verbal pitch of approximately 30 seconds will also be required during the presentation phase. The event window runs from April 5th to April 21st, 2026, with the final submission and presentation deadline on April 21st.
Prizes
A total cash prize pool of ₹1,800 is available. The 1st Prize winner will receive ₹1,000, and the 2nd Prize winner will receive ₹800. Certificates will also be awarded to winners.
Eligibility
Participation is strictly solo. Only Figma is permitted for design. AI-generated UI or screens are not allowed, and all work must be original. While pre-made UI kits (components only) are allowed, internet use is strictly for reference, with no copying permitted. Plagiarism will lead to immediate disqualification. Judges' decisions are final.
