About this competition
The Google Cloud Rapid Agent Hackathon invites developers, AI enthusiasts, and innovators from around the globe to build cutting-edge AI agents using Google Cloud technologies. This online competition challenges participants to leverage Google Cloud's powerful AI and machine learning tools to create intelligent solutions that address real-world problems or explore new frontiers in AI.
Who Should Apply This hackathon is ideal for individual developers, student teams, and early-stage startups with an interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing. Participants are encouraged to bring their innovative ideas and technical skills to develop impactful AI agents.
Tracks & Themes Participants can explore a wide range of themes, including but not limited to: Databases, focusing on intelligent data management and retrieval; Machine Learning/AI, for developing advanced predictive models and cognitive services; and Open Ended challenges, allowing for creative exploration across various domains. The emphasis is on building functional and innovative AI agents.
Format & Timeline This is a fully online hackathon running from May 1st to June 11th, 2026. Participants will have several weeks to develop and submit their projects. The virtual format allows for global participation and flexible development schedules. Submissions will be judged based on innovation, technical implementation, potential impact, and completeness.
Prizes A substantial prize pool of $50,000 is available for top-performing teams. This cash prize aims to support and reward the most innovative and impactful AI agent solutions developed during the hackathon.
Eligibility Open to participants worldwide. Individuals and teams are welcome to register. There are no explicit restrictions on team size, encouraging both solo builders and collaborative groups.
