HUL TechTonic Season 8 is the eighth edition of Unilever's annual technology case study competition for B-Schools, organised by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). This competition invites first-year MBA students from India's premier business schools to tackle real-world business challenges using artificial intelligence, strategic thinking, and creativity.
Who Should Apply
The competition is open exclusively to first-year students pursuing full-time MBA programmes from the following B-Schools: FMS Delhi, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Mumbai, JBIMS Mumbai, SJMSOM IIT Bombay, SPJIMR Mumbai, SCMHRD, XLRI Delhi, and XLRI Jamshedpur. Teams must consist of exactly three members from the same campus. Cross-specialisation teams are allowed, and there is no limit on the number of teams per institute.
Format & Timeline
The competition spans approximately six weeks across three stages:
- Stage 1: Virtual Launch & Case Submission — A virtual launch event on July 31, 2026, reveals the case study. Teams submit a 2-slide PPT solution (analysis, proposed strategy, and a working agent prototype) by August 20, 2026.
- Stage 2: Mentorship — The top 5 teams from Stage 1 receive mentorship from a Unilever mentor to refine their solutions.
- Stage 3: Grand Finale — The top 5 teams present a 15-minute presentation (10-minute presentation with 5-6 slides and a functional agent demo, plus 5-minute Q&A) to a panel of senior global leaders from Unilever Operations at the Unilever Campus in Bangalore.
Prizes
- Winner: ₹3,75,000 cash prize
- 1st Runners-Up: ₹1,50,000 cash prize
- Second Runners-Up: ₹1,00,000 cash prize
- #TechDoneRight: Top 2 participants from each campus win goodies worth ₹50,000
- Top 5 Finalists: Shortlisted for Pre-Placement Interviews (PPIs) to join Unilever as ULIP in UniOps. Successful candidates secure an internship with a stipend of ₹4.4 lakhs and may receive a PPO (Pre-Placement Offer) to join Unilever as ULIP in GDT.
Eligibility
Open to first-year full-time MBA students from the listed B-Schools. Teams of exactly 3 members from the same campus. Cross-specialisation teams allowed. No limit on number of teams per institute. A student cannot be part of more than one team. Team modifications post-registration are not allowed.
