Open Loop is a national-level hackathon organised by Yenepoya School of Engineering & Technology (YenTech). This competition is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and practical problem-solving among India's brightest undergraduate students. Participants will engage in a competitive environment to develop technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges, gaining hands-on experience and industry exposure.
Who Should Apply
This hackathon is exclusively for undergraduate (UG) students across India. Teams of 2 to 4 members are eligible, and inter-college as well as inter-specialization teams are encouraged to participate.
Format & Timeline
The competition is held offline and features a two-stage format. The Preliminary Round serves as a screening phase, where submissions are evaluated based on technical feasibility, innovation, impact, and presentation quality. Successful teams advance to the Final Round, an intensive 24-hour on-site hackathon. Problem statements will be provided at the start of this round, challenging teams to develop a working prototype for final presentation to a panel of judges.
Prizes
Open Loop offers a total cash prize pool of ₹30,000, along with exciting rewards, goodies, and participation certificates. The top three teams will receive:
- 1st Place: ₹15,000 + Goodies & Swags
- 2nd Place: ₹10,000 + Goodies & Swags
- 3rd Place: ₹5,000 + Goodies & Swags
Additionally, all participants in the offline round will receive perks and goodies worth over ₹70,000, along with valuable networking opportunities.
Eligibility
Open to all undergraduate students enrolled in colleges across India. Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members. All tools and technologies are permitted, with AI usage allowed if properly documented and justified. A strict plagiarism policy is enforced.
