Learn moreSelection Process
The selection process for the TATA Social Enterprise Challenge is designed to identify high-potential social enterprises with both innovative solutions and a strong commitment to creating sustainable social impact. Applications are initially screened by a jury composed of experts from IIM Calcutta, Tata Sons, and experienced social sector professionals, evaluating criteria such as the clarity of the problem statement, innovation in the solution, scalability, financial viability, and the depth of social impact. Shortlisted teams then proceed to a pre-qualifier round where they may present their detailed business plans and engage in Q&A sessions. Finalists are chosen based on these evaluations and invited to the Grand Finale, where they pitch their ventures live to a high-profile panel of judges, including prominent investors and social entrepreneurs. The judges assess the pitches on multiple dimensions, including team strength, market opportunity, impact measurement, and potential for growth, before selecting the winners and runners-up.
